CREWE - CHESTER -- BANGOR - HOLYHEAD
 MONTHLY REPORTS
DECEMBER 2008 - PAGE TWO

Crewe station and the new timetable has brought lots of Pendolinos, many of them not stopping. This shot shows the curious situation whereby 390031 "City of Liverpool" is entering platform 6 en route for Euston. That is quite unusual but as it was entering 6, 390026 "Virgin Enterprise" was leaving platform 5, also en route for Euston! 22/12/2008

Mail units hurtling South comprising 325008, 325006 and 325001. 22/12/2008

390021 "Virgin Dream" heading North at a pace. 22/12/2008

390039 "Virgin Quest" heading South - told you there were a lot of them. I must say it's impressive to see them at speed through the station. 22/12/2008

The Euston-Holyhead has now lost its weekday Pendolino drag in favour of Super Voyagers. 221110 "James Cook" was coupled with 221105 "William Baffin" as it arrived in platform 12 running around 7 minutes down on arrival. 22/12/2008

185002 leaving for South Wales. 22/12/2008

Having seen some activity around the LNWR sheds i was surprised when four class 47's appeared. Leading was 47805 "Talisman". This engine was formally named "Pride of Toton", a coastal performer. 22/12/2008

Next was an old friend 47769 "Resolve". 22/12/2008

The coach was numbered 1203 and then came 47848 "Titan Star". Formerly named "Newton Abbot Festival of Transport", another coastal performer. 22/12/2008

 Finally 47815 "Great Western". 22/12/2008

On the way out I was surprised to see 221105 entering bay platform 9 from the Chester line. Obviously this had been split from 110 at Chester - interesting working. 22/12/2008
