Once again Crewe station echoes to the growl of 37/4's as 37401 (formerly "Mary Queen of Scots") leads 37417 "Richard Trevithick" into platform 5 with the Kingfisher Railtours Swindon-Carlisle-Swindon charter. More pictures HERE. 05/05/2008

Deep in the heart of Cheshire and, as Mrs Dobbin sleeps with Dobbin Jr (count the legs), Stanier class 5 number 45407 heads for Middlewich with The Cheshire Gardens Express. Bound for Altrincham and then shuttling to Chester, the train is limited to 20 m.p.h. on what is normally a goods-only line. Having been quite a pleasant morning, the heavens opened about 20 minutes before the train was due and promptly ceased afterwards - we must be mad! 4/5/2008
