Crewe Station, bay platform 3 and 57305 "John Tracy" wait for business. 24/10/2008

Not why I was at Crewe but still very welcome was the arrival of DRS stock from the Brush factory at Loughborough. The trio ran in to bay platform 8 before leaving for Gresty Bridge. Leading was 20309....

.....followed by 37218.....

.....then 37603.

66047 headed North with a single flat. 24/10/2008

The reason for my visit to Crewe arrived off the North Wales Coast, 37423 with a railhead treatment train. 423 had hauled passenger trains on the Coast Line on several occasions in 1999 while carrying the name "Sir Murray Morrison 1873-1948, Pioneer of British Aluminium Industry". The good news is that another ex-coastliner, 37412, is to be similarly returned to service by DRS - I can't wait. 24/10/2008

423 left to admiring looks from photographers. 24/10/2008
