A Network Rail Measurement Train heads into Crewe with 43013 leading 43014 as 323237 enters from the Manchester line. 24/03/2010

The main reason for visiting Crewe was to witness Stanier Pacific 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" leaving the Heritage Centre and head for Southall in preparation for a Steam Dreams "Cathedrals Express" charter from London to Bristol and return. 6201 was deputising for the failed 34067.    24/03/2010

Pausing for a few minutes at the South end of the station, the locomotive continued with its reverse run to the triangle for turning prior to its run South. 24/03/2010

325008 "Peter Howarth CBE" mail unit ran through the station under its own power. 24/03/2010

67016 entered the station with a collection of elderly looking vehicles. It seems a shame that these locomotives are seen on such mundane duties when they were actually acquired to run at speeds up to 125mph, predominately on mail. 24/03/2010

The two 37's left for Gresty Bridge with 37259 leading.....
