 SHREWSBURY/CHESTER
25th NOVEMBER 2017

Shrewsbury station and Britannia Pacific 70013 "Oliver Cromwell" storms through "middle road" with "The Christmas Cheshireman" running Bristol-Chester-Bristol.

47580 "County of Essex" was on the rear.

I had travelled up from Shrewsbury on 158828 to find 56105 waiting to pass through the station with an RHTT.

The "Brit" pulled its train out of the platform.....

.....and reversed onto the holding sidings.

601663 "Tornado" had brought its train from London as The Chester Christmas Cracker and was parked out on the North Wales line when I arrived. Eventually it entered the station running through to then reverse onto its stock.

Meanwhile the Britannia had pulled forward and there was much activity around the driving wheels?

Not often you can see two pacifics at Chester - wonderful.

The trip back to Sandbach is normally a 323 EMU but this time it was a class 150 DMU, no reason known.
