Crewe station and a visit to see Flying Scotsman produced a surprise, 34052 "LORD DOWDING" aka 34046 "BRAUNTON" waiting to leave for the Basford Hall triangle to turn.
The West Country pacific soon returned and entered the UDL.
Waiting for clearance to leave for Chester.
90042 arrived off the maintenance depot.
Just then an A3 pacific appeared in the form of 60103 "FLYING SCOTSMAN" and entered platform 12.
Two pacifics at Crewe!
The West Country left for Chester.
Meanwhile "Scotsman" was taking on water while en route from Bury to Southall.
After some time 60103 left for Southall.
"BRAUNTON" returned from Chester.
