 CREWE, DECEMBER 7th 2019

Today was the last day for Virgin Trains' operations on the West Coast Line and all Voyagers passing through had retained their Virgin livery albeit without the nose badges.

It was a different story with the Pendolino fleet with no Virgin livery to be seen as 390 010 sped through heading North.

46100 "Royal Scot" at the head of the Pennine Moors Christmas Explorer, waiting to wend its way to Blackburn and return.

Another debranded Pendolino left for Manchester carrying a Lady Godiva stick-on name and a logo at either end.

Finally the "Scot" departed from platform 12 in a cloud of steam with 11 on.

Thankfully the drain cocks were closed and the smoke damped down the dazzling sunshine so things were looking good.

It really is a beautiful machine - and it's in green!

 Classic departing shot.

D1924 "Crewe Diesel Depot" was on the rear.
