 SANDBACH MARCH 31st 2019

An unidentified Cross-Country Voyager diverted and heading North through Sandbach.

150252 en route for Newport with a class 158 attached.

 A Manchester-bound "local".

"Britannia" returning from its trip to York the previous day.

Watching the Brit reminded me of a visit to Bridgenorth after a loco hunt to Barry Island on behalf of what is now the CVR, sometime in the early 1970's. My camera at the time was crude and developing was expensive but I did manage a couple of shots, unfortunately they don't blow up too well. I distinctly remember the tender was leaking very badly at the time.

 D1924 on the rear.

 SANDBACH MARCH 30th 2019

Sandbach and 319367 departs for Crewe.

In the distance there's a throbbing sound and a chime whistle moaning.

Regulator and whistle wide open, the re-named Britannia Express(!) stormed through.
Stirring stuff.

D1924 "Crewe Diesel Depot" on the rear..

66733 "Cambridge PSB" crawled towards platform 3 before opening up as the "Brit" rapidly disappeared..

 323237 also departed for Crewe.
