A rail37.com PICTURE REPORT
  CREWE - CHESTER - BANGOR - HOLYHEAD
ROOD ASHTON HALL
17th MAY 2008

Yet another steam working through as 4965 eases its train round the curve off the Chester and North Wales line and in to Crewe station.

The train was The Welsh Highlander, a charter from Tyseley to Llandudno Junction operated by Vintage Trains Limited.

With the light fading fast the train headed for platform 12 where 4965 was to take on water.

At least I could now slow the camera down and get a decent shot of this polished beauty!
To follow is a set of sequenced shots of the train leaving Crewe. By now the light was almost gone so at an ASA setting of 1600 the pictures are somewhat grainy. See this diminutive looking locomotive easily lift its train away from Crewe and head South.
