A rail37.com PICTURE REPORT
  CREWE - CHESTER - BANGOR - HOLYHEAD
6100 ROYAL SCOT
PART ONE - 6th FEBRUARY 2009
Part two          Part three

The arrival. 6100 arrived at the Heritage Centre well covered and virtually unidentifiable except to those well versed in the class.

The unveiling - easier said than done!

Various straps and ropes needed to be removed.

The classic lines of the Royal Scot class easily distinguishable even without the windshields.

 Release from the trailer.

 Slowly down the inclined trailer.

Making sure the wheels stay on the rails.

The tender had already been delivered and was soon hooked up with the engine. The works shunter took the locomotive down the yard to pose for photographs. Alongside being retubed was another Stanier masterpiece number 6201 "Princess Elizabeth".

Royal Scot was quickly pushed into the shed away from prying eyes.

 Safely tucked up inside.

My grateful thanks to Steve, Richard and the staff at LNWR for indulging me on this momentous occasion.
Please remember that this is a working environment and therefore not normally accessible to the general public. Serious health and safety regulations apply on the site.
