Beautiful day on the coast as 47785 "Fiona Castle" heads for Penmaenhead tunnel with the 13.56 Holyhead-Birmingham. 12/9/2003

A few minutes earlier, 47826 "Springburn" in retro Intercity livery, took the 13.35 Holyhead-London Virgin service across the A55 heading East. 12/9/2003

47635 "The Lass O'Ballochmyle" had left Crewe Diesel Depot to collect stock for the evening ecs working to Manchester to form the 17.19 Manchester-Holyhead. I waited for what seemed ages for the train to appear, the conditions were perfect and I went and snatched the shot! Despite some trickery it is still blurred but the best I can do. 9/9/2003

At least the "leaving" shot was more acceptable.... 9/9/2003
