The first steaming of 43106 after its protracted overhaul at The Severn Valley Railway on 21st August 2009. This is one of two shots sent to me by celebrated author and photographer, Keith Langston.

The North Wales Fellsman on its outward journey passing under the Conwy arch with 670 leading once more. 02/08/2009

37670 leads 37401 over the A55 at Old Colwyn as they take empty coaching stock to Holyhead to run as Compass Tours' charter to Carlisle, The North Wales Fellsman. 02/08/2009

The train continued its run around the Bay of Colwyn with the, currently, derelict pier in the background. 02/08/2009

Also visiting the North Wales Coast that day was Coronation Pacific 6233, Duchess of Sutherland with a Liverpool-Holyhead charter "The North Wales Coast Express". Here the train is leaving Rhyl, some eight miles from where I was stood. 02/08/2009

Now leaving Abergele/Pensarn, four miles away this time. 02/08/2009

And finally, passing the site of Llysfaen station on its way to Penmaenrhos tunnel and the bay. 02/08/2009

This vehicle was parked on the top of Penmaenhead near the site of the Hotel 70 Degrees. 02/08/2009
