The first steaming of
43106 after its protracted overhaul at The Severn Valley Railway

the A55 at Old Colwyn as they take empty coaching stock to Holyhead
to run as Compass Tours' charter to Carlisle, The North

The train continued its
run around the Bay of Colwyn with the, currently, derelict pier
in the background. 02/08/2009
Also visiting the North
Wales Coast that day was Coronation Pacific 6233, Duchess
of Sutherland with a Liverpool-Holyhead charter "The
North Wales Coast Express". Here the train is leaving
Rhyl, some eight miles from where I was stood. 02/08/2009

the site of Llysfaen station on its way to Penmaenrhos tunnel

on the top of Penmaenhead near the site of the Hotel 70 Degrees.
