 CREWE MAY 31st 2021 - PART I

Good to be back at Crewe and this time to see The North Wales Coast Express running from Worcester to Holyhead. It was diesel hauled to Crewe where 45231 "The Sherwood Forester" took over.

As usual the steam locomotive pulled forward in order to access the train but on this occasion, oddly, the diesel hadn't appeared beforehand. Surely it wasn't staying on the train?

The black 5 then reversed onto the train......

......only to reappear with the diesel in tow - a failure?

47614 was indeed dead, so how had the train made it to Crewe?

45231 then reversed the errant 47 into bay platform 10 where it was left.

5231 then ran out of the station to reverse onto the train.

Eventually the train set off for Holyhead in classic manner.
