 CREWE/STOKE 26th MARCH 2022

Crewe station and my chariot is ready to depart for Birmingham, dropping me off at Stoke.

Stoke station is much more busy than I expected and with traction largely different from that seen at Crewe.
Photographing at Stoke when the Sun is out produces some very intricate patterns due to the roof structure.

The reason for the visit was 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland" with The Mancunian, running Euston-Manchester.

I had expected that the train would take a quick dash through the station but, fortunately, it was held just outside the station roof.

After a few minutes it was away to a glorious exhaust sound.

 On the rear was 47772.

Back to Crewe and more steam in the shape of 7029 "Clun Castle" running Tyseley-Chester with The Chester Venturer.
I was fortunate in that the train arrived minutes after I did and it didn't stop, just gliding through platform 12.

D1755/47773 was on the rear as the Castle opened up and the exhaust could be heard well into the distance.
Two in one day, that can't be bad.
