The season of mists etc.was truly evident as West Country Pacific 34046 "Braunton" entered platform 2 with Saphos Trains charter, The Yorkshireman, running Crewe-Sheffield-York-Crewe.
Are the enthusiasts paying homage or lining up shots?
Fortunately a local train had just cleared platform 1 as 34046 slowed to stop.
At last the correct name and number together with a touch of Boxpok.
The soft, three cylinder exhaust beat could clearly be heard as the support diesel, D1944 "Craftsman" drew into view.
A friendly wave from the cab or deflecting the low, bright Sun, I don't know but I'll settle for a friendly wave.
